The Lezyne Mega XL GPS bike computer is the top model from Lezyne together with the Lezyne Mega C. The two models have no touch screen. They are operated via four side buttons.

With the models without touchscreen Lezyne follows a similar concept as Wahoo (Wahoo Elemnt and Wahoo Elemnt Bolt). From my point of view, a touch screen is not necessary with a GPS bike computer. Button operation is better under wet conditions and when wearing gloves. As the displays of GPS bike computers are rather small, their use is limited anyhow.

The two models Mega XL and Mega C differ in display and battery life. The Mega XL has a 2.7-inch black and white display, the Mega C a 2.2-inch black and white display.

Battery life for Mega XL is up to 48 hours, for Mega C only up to 32 hours. The Mega XL is 10 grams heavier.

Sensors

The Lezyne Mega GPS bike computers work with both Ant+ and Bluetooth sensors.

Routing

Routing takes place via the smartphone. The direct navigation over the device is difficult and only possible to a limited extent. The recalculation of the route with track deviation is very slow. Turn-off instructions are only available for routes previously planned via the app.

Advantages of the Lezyne Mega C GPS bike computer

  • long battery life
  • short switch-on time
  • available in several colors

Disadvantages of the Lezyne Mega C GPS bike computer

  • small data storage
  • limited and difficult navigation directly on the device
  • useful navigation only possible together with a smartphone
