Planning for 2022 is practically completed. The major events are fixed. I am optimistic that in 2022 we will have very limited cancellations. Already the trips in the second half of 2021 could take place. So I do not assume that there will be cancellations. I dare gently to something that was lost: anticipation.

Highlight of the season is the Tour Transalp in June. After the cancellations in the past two years, I really hope that the Transalp can finally take place this year. The trip is planned, the hotels along the stages are booked. A partner has been found. I have planned the season around the Transalp.

BikeCamp at Mallorca

Sharp start to the season is with the BikeCamp in Mallorca from Speedville. The training camp in Alcudia takes place on a total of four weeks, of which I have booked the last week. I have not been to Mallorca very often yet. Therefore Mallorca is my first choice in March. The racing bike flair in Mallorca is incomparable.

Further Highlights

Two more highlights in April should bridge the time until the second “training camp”: Spreewald marathon in Burg in Spreewald and a weekend in the Harz mountains. It’s finally time for both. Both are just around the corner. It will be my first participation in the Spreewald marathon. And my first trip to the Harz. I am excited and looking forward to both.

Tour of the Basque Country

I want to put the finishing touches for the Transalp with a road bike trip that I’m really looking forward to. It is practically to be considered also as a second training camp. I have booked the Basque Country Tour with Quäldich at the end of May with start and finish in Bilbao. I haven’t been to northern Spain yet and have wanted to go for a long time. And now I’m even going there on a road bike. Great. I can hardly wait.

Season Highlicht

A good four weeks later, the season’s highlight is reached. On Sunday, June 19, the starting signal for the Tour Transalp will be given. The route leads 2022 over 610 km and 15,860 hm in seven stages from Lake Resia to Arco on Lake Garda. Highlights are definitely the Stelvio Pass, the Mortirolo and the Passo Croce Domini (Goletto di Cadino).

End of season

At the end of the season in autumn I booked a second trip with Quäldich: The Corsica round trip. I am also very much looking forward to this experience. I expect interesting tours on lonely mountain roads. Overnight stays will be at the seaside for most of the stages. A perfect combination for a perfect end to the season.

I am very much looking forward to the season 2022. I am optimistic. And the optimism is already having an effect on the cycling performance at Zwift. The year has started with a lot of motivation. It was about time.
