The 2024 season is over. My 2025 season planning is practically complete. The first bookings have been made. I’m already registered for most of my planned events.
What are you waiting for? Prices are only going to go up. And my plans for the upcoming year usually mature already during the current season anyway. The favorites for the upcoming season crystallize almost by themselves. Either they are events that I have wanted to do for a long time. Or they are great experiences that I want to repeat.
CLEAN-Diet
Also the year 2025 starts with the CLEAN diet according to Alejandro Junger. I’ve been starting every year with it since 2018. Three weeks of eating according to a diet plan with permitted and prohibited food. The associated weight loss is a welcome side effect that has become the main effect for me as cyclist.
Tour Transalp
The Tour Transalp will also be the highlight of the 2025 season. The 2024 Transalp was a lot of fun. So why not repeat the whole thing? We had already agreed to start again in 2025 when we were celebrating the successful finish of the 2024 edition in Riva. We, that is Jörg and I, the “Pedal Pals”. And as agreed, we signed up right at the start of registration in July.
Mallorca
Mallorca and the SpeedVille Camp in Alcudia were also fixed on the agenda for 2025. This time for two weeks straight away, after I had added another week at short notice in 2024. The price-performance ratio in Mallorca in spring is simply unrivaled. If the weather is also good, there is no better way to start the season.
Bike packing
Because the 2024 bike packing tours to the Baltic Sea and the Picos de Europa went so well and were so much fun, there will be again two bikepacking tours in 2025. In May, I’ll be cycling the first tour from Dresden to the Palatinate. For the 40th anniversary of my graduation. It just makes sense.
Another two-week tour is planned for September 2025. This time in Italy. From Florence via San Marino to the Adriatic. And back to Florence via Elba. The exact route is still being worked out.
Cycle marathons
I am also already registered for the two cycle marathons near Dresden. The Spreewald Marathon in Lübbenau and the Erztaler Cycle Marathon in Kurort Hartha. Both are simply a part of spring cycling.
The Stoneman Miriquidi Road has also become an integral part of my cycling season. For me, the Stoneman is always a great experience as a two-day bike packing tour and is a must-do in summer. The weather forecast determines which weekend it will be.
There is still some room for short-term decisions. I look forward to 2025!
