In anticipation of the new season, I got the idea to collect my bucket list for road bike cycling. I was quite surprised that I barely could find something online about bucket lists for road cyclists. What might be the reason?

Highlights for a ciclists life

My bucket list is supposed to list highlights for a cycling life. Therefore, my bucket-list contains also entries that I already completed. I think you can only really assess something once you have already experienced it. So all entries with a date are highlights that I have checked.

Road bike events in which you cannot participate yourself are missing in my list. Events like for example the finale of the Tour de France in Paris, the start or finish of a tour stage or a 6-day race I should possibly add one day to another list.

What belongs to my bucket-list?

There are many fantastic climbs in every mountain. There are numerous wonderful events all over the world. Out of this multitude, my bucket list should only contain the very special event and the very special climb.

I will continously update my list. Whenever a bike tour or an event fascinates me so much that it stands out from the other great experiences, I will add it to the list. Or I might read or hear about something so special that I think it should be on the list.

Explanations of the Bucket-List

The sequence is random and does not represent a ranking. It is in the nature of the list that each entry is special. At some events, such as the Cyclassics, I have participated several times. In these cases, only the latest participation is shown in the list.
